ACT Events for 2009
Earlier this year...
  • February 14
    Organ Ramble
    10 am. A visit to the North Belconnen Uniting Church, where a number of musicians presented a program of organ music, plus a vocal selection from RSCM Voice For Life Gold Medallist, Gemma Dashwood.

  • April 5
    Annual General Meeting
    The Annual General Meeting of the RSCM ACT Branch was held on Sunday 5 April at 2.30pm in the City Uniting Church, Northbourne Avenue. The meeting commenced with a recital by organist David Franks. The existing board was re-elected, with the addition of a new board member, Graeme Brown.

  • Sunday, June 21
    COMPOSITION COMPETITION FINALISTS' CONCERT
    2pm at St John's Church, Reid
    This year, we invited composers to submit a a setting of the Choristers' Prayer.
    The four finalists were judged by respected Australian composer Ann Carr-Boyd.
    Between performances of the competition entries, there were also performances by local musicians of sacred and organ music.
    Joint winners were: Adrian Wintle and Les Davey.

  • August 23, 2009
    A Celebratory Evensong
    All Saints' Church, Ainslie
    RSCM Members joined All Saints' choir for an Evensong celebrating the 50th Anniversary of RSCM membership of All Saints' Ainslie.
    4pm rehearsal for 5pm service
    The service included a performance of Les Davey's setting of the Choristers' Prayer, joint winner of this year's composition competition.

  • September 5, 2009
    Rural Organ Ramble to St Clement's Anglican Church, Yass
    A program of music commenced at 10.00am. As well as organ music, some choral music was performed, and a peal of the bells ended the morning.
